The brief
Home-improvement jobs go wrong when money and work fall out of step: the homeowner pays ahead and waits, or the tradesperson finishes a stage and chases. paytrader.net needed to hold the money safely in the middle and release it stage by stage, on a phone, for people who do not read terms and conditions.
What we built
iOS and Android apps and a web platform from one design system: staged payments, a shared job timeline, and a ledger where every balance reconciles to the penny and every movement is auditable. The interface was designed in the browser and tested on the mid-range phones people actually carry.
What changed
Launched in 2026 as PayTrader Ltd's own product, with the studio responsible for design, build, hosting and the accounts behind it. Adoption figures will be published here once there is a quarter of them to report.
